Lurking at the edges of the known world and in the depths of the human imagination, monsters have fascinated people for thousands of years.
Among the earliest known examples of figurative art is the Löwenmensch ("Lion-Man"), a prehistoric sculpture that combines a human body with the head of a lion. Since then, every culture has imagined its own extraordinary creatures: cyclopes, werewolves, fauns, trolls, demons, and the feathered serpent Quetzalcoatl, to name only a few.
The more we learn about these beings, the more fascinating they become. Their stories, curious habits, strange diets, and the rituals devised to ward them off reveal the boundless creativity of the human imagination. They reflect our fears, hopes, and attempts to make sense of the unknown.
Monsters have long captured my interest. Inspired by the rich traditions of myth and folklore, I create my own fantastic creatures, combining human, animal, and imagined forms. Through these hybrid beings, I explore the space where myth, wonder, and invention meet.
