Greene King

Across many cultures, masks serve as a bridge between the human and the supernatural. They conceal the wearer while allowing another presence to emerge, transforming an ordinary face into something mysterious and otherworldly.
Greene King was inspired by the idea of a spirit of the forest. I wanted to create a wearable head that felt as though it had emerged from the wild: ancient, overgrown, and shaped by nature rather than human hands. Built from layers of paper, plaster, acrylic paint, and gathered plant material, the mask combines natural and crafted elements to suggest a being that belongs to an older, untamed world. A presence that briefly comes to life when worn.
